The Art of Custom: Engagement Ring FAQ
Diamonds & Stones
Where do your diamonds come from?
From old European diamonds to repurposed heirlooms—every stone carries history and
character. For custom projects, we can repurpose a client’s diamond or source new,
estate, or antique stones. We maintain trusted sources for both. Paris & Lily’s Founder
and Head Artist/Goldsmith, for example, chose a round 3.5ct old European diamond for
her own ring.
Can I bring my own heirloom stone?
Absolutely. We specialize in transforming family gems into modern heirlooms that honor
your story.
Design Process
How does custom design work?
Through private consultations and hand sketches, we craft each ring with your story in
mind. Clients can reach out via email or messaging, and we can meet in person or
virtually to discuss inspirations. We also have a Contact Us form on our website. From
there, we review our Paris & Lily portfolio, look at reference images, and begin the
design process with sketches and ongoing collaboration.
How long does it take?
Typically 6–10 weeks, depending on design and stone selection.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes—luxury is personal, whether in our studio or from the comfort of your own home.
Materials & Details
What metals do you use?
Most of our custom rings are crafted in 22K gold—a signature of our work. Paris & Lily’s
Founder & Head Artist/Goldsmith studied the ancient art of alloying and hand-milling
metals, creating each piece in our Osterville studio. Many clients come to us after
admiring her pieces on friends and family, drawn to the rich gold tones and handmade
aesthetic.
Can my ring be personalized?
Yes. Engravings and hidden details make your ring uniquely yours—whether a date,
initials, or a personal symbol inside the band.
Experience & Philosophy
Why choose a private studio?
Private studios like ours focus on a select number of clients, offering an intimate,
thoughtful, and timeless experience.
Do you only make engagement rings?
No—wedding bands, anniversary pieces, and bespoke fine jewelry are all part of our
craft.
How do you ensure timeless design?
By prioritizing story and craftsmanship over fleeting trends. Every piece is handmade for
your finger, designed to be uniquely yours, and inspired by the ancient jewelry traditions
that are both timeless and everlasting.
